Drive Personnel was proud to attend the Southampton FC 2022 Player Awards in May, sponsoring the Goal of the Season award. This annual awards ceremony hasn’t taken place since 2019 due to coronavirus, and was much anticipated by fans and by the Drive Personnel team.
The awards took place at St Mary’s Stadium, and Saints captain James Ward-Prowse dominated the event winning three of the prestigious awards, including the Drive Personnel Men’s Goal of the Season for his spectacular long-range free kick at Wolves. The award was presented by Drive Personnel Managing Director and Owner Chris Bryant’s youngest son Charlie, who is an avid Saints fan. Upon receiving the award, captain Ward-Prowse commented:
“I think everybody wants to win that award – it’s a special one to score the best goal of the season,” he said. “There were some great strikes in there. Thankfully I won it, but hopefully there’s more to come.”
The event included interviews with Ward-Prowse, women’s head coach Marieanne Spacey-Cale, and the Saints manager himself Ralph Hasenhüttl. Managing Director of Drive Personnel Chris Bryant commented:
“As a football fan and life-long Saints fan, it was a proud moment for me to give Charlie the opportunity to present the Drive Personnel Men’s Goal of the Season this year. It was a long-anticipated event, and the players from the men’s and women’s team and the academy were well deserving of their awards following the accomplishments of the last season.
I look forward to working with Saints again in the future, and hope for another great season to come.”
