What Sort of HGV Driver Would be Suited to HIAB Work?
HIAB work is most commonly found in the construction industry, and HIAB drivers will often be carrying building materials such as tonne bags of sand and ballast to building sites. This means that HIAB driving is a great role for HGV drivers who are happy to do multiple deliveries each day, without having to use a tail lift or pallet truck to transfer goods consignee. The nature of the work also means that it is more likely to be during daytime hours and be reasonably local, unlike long distance haulage work.
Training Opportunities

We offer discounted training options to our drivers to assist with the cost of career development, which includes HGV Class 1 and HGV Class 2 drivers wishing to gain their HIAB certificate to enhance their current driving licence.
Additionally, as an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 HIAB driver, you will need to maintain your certificate of professional competence (CPC) and at Drive Personnel we will support you with that too.
