Drive Personnel Sponsors Fundraising Event for Southampton Neonatal Unit

Drive Personnel was delighted to be the headline sponsor of a fundraising event to help raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton on Friday 26th November.

Hosted by mums Kate and Hazel, the event raised money for the children’s unit to give something back after their boys Evan and Reggie spent a significant amount of time in hospital following premature births last year. The event was originally planned to be hosted in one of the mum’s kitchens with friends and family participating in a raffle, but the event grew and grew until it was eventually hosted at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton on 26th November, with over 500 guests.

So far, the event has raised £43,150, with the final donated amount expected to be around £50,000. This money will go directly to the Neonatal Unit and will be spent on improving facilities for staff and parents, alongside helping to equip the unit with state-of-the-art technology to help future children.

Managing director Chris Bryant was first made aware of Evan and Reggie’s fundraiser through an old school friend, whose family has suffered the devastating loss of two grandchildren despite the fantastic work at Princess Anne. Chris was then introduced to Kate and Hazel and immediately offered to sponsor their event and was in attendance on Friday, expressing his admiration of Kate and Hazel and their resilience during such a difficult time in a heartfelt speech.

Drive Personnel would like to thank all of those who attended the fundraiser at St Mary’s, including those who donated fantastic raffle prizes such as signed football shirts and hotel vouchers, those who bought raffle tickets, and the inspirational staff from the unit who were in attendance. The donations raised will have such a positive impact on the children, their families and the staff at Princess Anne Hospital.
